Are You a Son of God?

Bible Text Rom 8:18-19 – For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us; For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing (manifestation) of the sons of God.

Who are the Sons of God?

1. Those that Receive & Believe in Him John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}

2. Those that are led by the Spirit of God Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

3. Those that are Blameless and Harmless Philp 2:15 KJV - That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; {harmless: or, sincere} {ye shine: or, shine ye} Job 1:8

4. We are Unique 1 John 3:1 KJV - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

5. We are like Jesus 1 John 3:2 KJV - Beloved, now are we the sons of

God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Eph 1:5

6. The Peacemakers Matt 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God

7. Those that Overcomes Rev 21:7 – He that overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be my son.

The Word of God manifested in the flesh is the most important truth. The Seed is the Word (Lk. 8:11), the Messiah (Gal. 3:16), and “sons” (Mt. 13:38).

This is the key to understanding who sons of God are and their purpose.

HOW DO WE MANIFEST AS SONS OF GOD a) Being led by Spirit of God - keep commandments - they love Him (Jn. 14:15).

b) The Word is the key; the Word is in them and is revealed through them. Luke 8:8; 15

c) Being doers of the Word - These are the ones who not only hear, but obey the Word as has been instructed. “For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified.” - Romans 2:13 (NKJV)

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” - James 1:22 (NKJV)

d) Obedience – Jesus was always obedient to his father, so should we! Matt 3:17

e) Ready to serve 2 Timothy 2-5

f) Be Holy
