Happiness Through Purpose

What do human beings want? happiness many want it through purpose, may be shaped by culture society desires etc

God wants us to be successful Will these things bring happiness?

Ecc 2 V 4-11

I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. 5 I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees. 7 I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house. I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me. 8 I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem[a] as well—the delights of a man’s heart. 9 I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me.

10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;

I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. 11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

What exactly is chasing after the wind?

Running after something you know you can feel momentarily but you will never be able to catch & hold, which simply meaning it has no lasting meaning .it's like when you buy a shoe after a while the shoe loses its novelty the excitement

you had when you bought it is gone after you wear it for a year.

It isn't only riches , some desire fame recognition, some people search for love that they aren't ready for this is only amplified in this generation.

We are in the social media era

Now the term look at your age mates has become something that plays on people's mind every time they open their social media.

Gods purpose for us

Jeremiah 29-11 (for I know the plans that I have for you) Matthew 7-11 Not only that but us being prosperous is in Gods interest so we can further his kingdom & attract unbelievers, an anecdote in this situation is if someone pulls next to you at a light in a Ferrari 458 & tells you to roll down your window & in a different instance a Nissan Micra 1999 tells you do the same thing which one has a higher percentage chance of getting the window rolled down .

However we're in a war 1 peter 5:8 a war for our souls & for unbelievers souls, & in war everything you own and possess is meaningless if you lose the war this means less than the end result of the mission in our war it means eternal damnation to hell for us & our love ones this leads me to my next point .

Sacrifice

Sacrifice is interesting because we must be willing to sacrifice what we think our earthly purpose if its God will, there are two instances i will use in the bible the first one is in Genesis 15 v 2 & Genesis 22 v 2 the next one is mark C 10 v18-22

I said sacrifice is interesting earlier because you

must be willing to give up anything for God & have it stay that way if it was Gods will, but a pattern consistently true in the bible is sacrifice precedes blessings this simply means you shouldn't sacrifice for blessings but you should be aware of the pattern you can sacrifice your time, money , and finally your purpose but because God loves us he will bless you. Finally

The question becomes how do i find my purpose while I’m here on earth

Proverbs 16:3 , Proverbs 19:21 many plans are this may seem like a contradiction but there is a clear instruction in proverbs 16 commit your plans to the lord.

Finally i believe Solomon gives a brilliant summary of how chance and circumstances play into being successful in this world no matter how intelligent or talented you think you are ECC 9 v 10 -11.

Whatever purpose you're going after but by committing your plans to God you can have him create the circumstances supernaturally for you to succeed along with your talent & intelligence .

This doesn't mean you can make bad decisions or be lazy and be committing plans you'll be committing plans for a long time God forbid this to be our portion.
