Oil of Gladness

We thank God for the oil of gladness. Our prayer is that the oil will continue to flow in our personal lives, families and church.

A few things to know about oil

• _Oil makes things move smoothly, if you have a door that is squeaky once you apply oil to the hinges; the door will no longer be squeaky. Oil is used to reduce friction between surfaces.

• _The oil signifies anointing, David in Psalm 23 said “Thou anointest my head with oil”._ _Anointing gives grace to do exploits. In Psalms 18 David said “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.” _

• _Oil causes the lamp to burn Matt 21:8, Exodus 27:20. In our lives the oil can signify the Holy Spirit, that causes us to burn for God.

• _Oil can bring wealth, the wife of the prophet was told to sell the oil and pay off her debt (2 Kings 4:7).

• _The sick can be anointed with oil to bring about healing Mark 6:13, James 5:14

Oil causes rejoicing; Jer 31:12, Ps 45:7

In the account of the wife of the prophet in the book of second Kings, chapter 4, Elisha instructed the woman to borrow vessels, and pour out the oil into the vessels.

As long as there was a vessel to pour the oil into the oil kept flowing; the moment there was no vessel to pour the oil into, the oil stayed.

If you want the oil to continue following you must continue pouring. Pour out yourself into what God has called you to do, spiritually or secularly.

Continue pouring out praise and thanksgiving to God and your mouth will always be filled with His praises.

You don’t want the praises to end in the week we celebrated the oil of gladness. You want the praises to continue throughout the year and into year 2018.

As long as you keep pouring the oil it will continue to flow. Keep the oil flowing don’t stop.

Prayer points

- If you are struggling in any area of life because of the oil of gladness we have received, the struggle ceases in Jesus name.

-By the grace of God we will begin to do exploits in righteousness and leap over walls in Jesus name.

- In Jesus name because of the oil we have received we will burn with more passion for the things of the kingdom of God in Jesus name.

-In Jesus name the oil of gladness will bring great prosperity into our lives.

- The oil of gladness will never run dry in our lives.
